Walkathon 2023

Walkathon FAQs
-
The Walkathon is the largest Farnham HSC fundraiser of the year. Our students, teachers, and staff walk hundreds of combined miles around campus during the morning. In the afternoon, the school grounds are converted to a carnival with games, bounce houses, food, and much more! It’s an all day event that our community looks forward to ever year!
-
Friday, April 28, 2023 at Farnham.
The Walkathon takes place during the school day from approximately 8:30am-11:30am.
School dismissal is at normal time.
The carnival takes place from 4-8pm.

Each student will receive a sponsorship envelope from school in late March. They can ask for pledges and collect cash/checks in the envelope. Donations can also be made online or through Zelle to farnhamhsctreasurer@gmail.com.
Envelopes are due on Friday, April 21, 2023. In order to be eligible for prizes, the absolute final day to submit envelopes is Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

It varies greatly. Students can set their own goals and will often surprise themselves with how many MILES they walk. Each lap is about 1/4 mile. There is no minimum or maximum!
-
A water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and comfortable shoes are a must for the Walkathon. Whatever is normally in their backpack is good too.

The Walkathon is for Farnham students, staff, and teachers, but we need volunteers all day long. Adults may volunteer or watch for part of the morning, but must enter through the office and sign in before coming on campus.
The carnival is open to anyone. Bring your family and friends!
-
Yes! Water is provided for Walkathon participants and they will eat lunch and snacks as they do regular school days.
The carnival will have a snack shack and food truck with items available for purchase with cash or credit cards.

The financial generosity of our community, including parents, friends, family, neighbors, and local businesses, enables the HSC to provide enrichment programs to our students that would otherwise not be possible.
Some of these programs include Art Vistas, Project Cornerstone, field trips, school supplies, assemblies, outdoor improvements, technology, Science Camp, scholarships, community building events, teacher appreciation, and more!
Your time is a valued donation too! Please consider volunteering or donating an item to the bake sale.
